2016 08/26/16 through 08/28/16 Skokie's Backlot Bash
Since its inception in 2007, Skokie's Backlot Bash has been offering area residents an action-packed downtown summer street festival and this year promises not to disappoint.
Over three days in August, Skokie's Backlot Bash will feature more than 15 hours of free live music on a main stage located on Oakton Avenue near the Village Hall, including regional and national acts. The event will also feature a large carnival midway, a 5K Run, a children's stage and kid's activities, fun teen activities, classic films, an auto show, bingo, a Sponsor and Community Resource Fair, exhibits at the Skokie Heritage Museum, Sunday pancake breakfast and farmer's market, food and beer, and more! (The name "Backlot" pays tribute to downtown Skokie's heritage as a major silent film industry back lot set between 1907 and 1917.)
The event is a collaboration between the Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie (IMODS), Niles Township High School District 219, the Skokie Park District, the Skokie Public Library, the Village of Skokie, and the Skokie Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
