Temporary Seasonal Employment - Village of Skokie

The Village of Skokie is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill two (2) temporary seasonal positions supporting the Streets & Alley Division of our Public Works Department.  In this position you will assist with street and alley pavement maintenance & repair; Performs various landscaping duties, including leaf collection, cutting grass using riding mower, tractor or push mower, trimming hedges, pruning trees, tree & tree stump removal, pulling weeds, and removing garbage and debris from medians; water and sewer repairs; stormwater maintenance, and other work-related duties, as assigned. Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Must have flexibility to work 2 – 5 days per week, not to exceed 1,000 working hours in the 12-month period immediately following date of employment.
 
Hourly pay range: $21.51 - $23.72, DOQ. This position is not eligible for any insurance or pension benefits.
 
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a H.S. diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License required. CDL Class B License desirable but not required.  You must be in good physical condition & be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions. This position requires a physical examination and drug screening prior to employment. The Village of Skokie considers cannabis to be an illegal drug.
